Setting up a VPN to your Server:




(all of the following is assuming your PC is Windows XP – if you are not using XP other steps may be required)




Go to Start – Control Panel – Network Connections

On the left hand side click Create a New Connection





The Welcome to New Connection Wizard will open

Click Next

Chose the second option – Connect to the network at my workplace

Chose the second option – Virtual Private Network

Type in a name that you will recognize (your company name)

**IF you get a screen that asks “Do no dial the initial connection” OR “Automatically dial this initial connection” choose DO NOT DIAL THE INTIAL CONNECTION

Click next

For the Host Name Or IP Address type in: your VPN server address
Click Next
Click My use only

Click Next

Click Next

Click Finish

A logon box appears – Type your username and password

Click Connect




You know should have 2 blue monitors in the bottom right corner by your clock that say Connected to (name of your company) – This is your VPN
